Paul Ballen

Graduating with BA Honours in Psychology from the University of the Witwaterstrand, Paul's interest in photography began from a young age. Taken a serious hobby from his teenage year, he won 2nd and 1st prize—in consecutive years—in the Fujifilm National Schools Photographic Competition. In fact, his Honours research sprung from his profound images of homeless people that he took during his final years at high school. He continues to have a passion for the power of the black and white image and has recently put together a portfolio of works taken shot of film following his commitment to black and white photography.
