Lynda Ballen
Lynda Ballen is a practicing artist and has been involved in arts education for the past thirty years. She as a BA in Fine arts from Wits University and an MA in Arts Education from New York University.
Ballen has taught in a number of educational institutions, from young children through to the tertiary level, including the Johannesburg Arts Foundation, an alternative art school during the years of Apartheid. There, she developed the curriculum for students unable to study art to matric in their local schools; she was a long standing member of its board. She was also a trustee of the Curriculum Development Programme, a teaching structure set up in the early 1990’s to facilitate art education in disadvantaged communities.
